Christ Church United Methodist provides many opportunities for congregants to feed their souls and to minister to one another.
Family Life Ministries
Our Family Life Ministries offer children's programs tailored to the individual needs of our youth. Typical Sunday activities include Children’s Time during the church service, Music time, the lesson for the day and craft/play activities.
The Family Life Ministry team and kids partner with local and national charity organizations. Our goal is to help our kids feel the presence of God and learn about Jesus’ teachings in a positive, loving, fun environment.
The Earth is God's amazing gift to us! Our Earthkeepers remind us of this gift and the call on us to be faithful ecological stewards. This group focuses on sustainability, energy efficiency and education. They have led our participation in community-wide events such as the 10/10/10 Global Work day. Through speakers, conferences, educational opportunities and Earth Day worship services our Earthkeepers invite us to put our faith to work for the Earth!
Our HandiCraft Circle meets on Fridays. CCUM members join together to make many useful or simply beautiful handicraft items while enjoying fellowship with one another.
Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County
A Christian housing ministry, using volunteers to build, renovate and repair houses for low income families in need. Volunteers from Christ Church provide ongoing support and participate in Faith Build Projects throughout Sonoma County.
Women's Book Club
Our Women's Book Group meets once a month to discuss thought-provoking books. The previously discussed books explore the issues of racism, immigration, war, life as a orphan in the mid-19th century, and a soldier's intellectual journey across America.
Seeds of Learning
Each year, Seeds of Learning sends volunteers to Central America to build and equip schools, educate and children and adults and promote cross-cultural understanding. Volunteers spend 1-2 weeks on projects in Nicaragua and El Salvador. CCUM participates in this meaningful exchange of resources and culture.
Hanna Boys Center
Every year, CCUM provides backpacks and supplies for students at Hanna Boys Center, which provides high risk boys from the Bay Area with full-time comprehensive residential care and educational services.
Christ Church is proud to be an active member of North Bay Organizing Project (NBOP). NBOP brings community members, congregations and neighborhood organizations together for the purpose of creating community democracy and justice.
